Who called me from a number I don't recognize?

Search it here. If other people have reported calls from that number, you'll see how many, and what they said the call was — telemarketing, a robocall, a suspected scam, and so on.

What does “frequently reported” mean?

That many distinct people have reported the number recently. It measures how many people had the same experience with the number — see how this works for the full explanation.

A number I searched has no reports. Is it safe?

It means only that: no reports. Most numbers, including ordinary personal ones, have none. Absence of reports is not a statement that a number is safe.

Can caller ID be faked?

Yes, easily. A heavily reported number often belongs to someone with no connection to the calls at all — their number was used as a disguise.

How do I get my own number removed from this site?

Use the opt-out page. We text a six-digit code to the number; once you enter it, the number reads exactly like one nobody has ever reported.

Where does the report data come from?

From people using this site, and from the FTC's public Do Not Call complaint data. FTC complaints count for less than a report made directly here, since nobody — including the FTC — has verified them.
